About us

Kenya National Union Of Pharmaceutical Technologists
KNUPT is a registered union in Kenya laws under Labour Relations Act 9 of 2007. (Rev. 2012).
The Registration Number issued to KNUPT is TU/188.
It represents more than 12,000 pharmaceutical technologists enrolled and practicing in Kenya, who provide preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative health care services at all levels of the Kenyan healthcare service delivery system under the CAP 244 of PHARMACY AND POISON BOARD ACT the laws of Kenya.

To regulate the relations and settle disputes between members and its employers by amicable agreements whenever possible.

To affiliate to trade Union Congress, and any other international Trade Union Secretariat that has the same objects and similarity with this Union.
PROTECTION
To endeavor to provide and seek facilities for members to obtain training both in their work and trade Union education or workers’ education in furtherance of their union activities and stability.
SECURITY
To secure complete organization of the union of all workers enrolled by Pharmacy and Poisons Board as pharmaceutical technologists.
SACCO
To establish and develop Cooperatives Saving and Credit Society and Housing Cooperatives benefit of officials and members.
An Estimate Number of Represented Pharmaceutical Technologists Enrolled & Practising in Kenya.
Percent of all pharmacies, chemist & drugs stores in Kenya are owned by Pharmaceutical Technologists.

Our Union Slogan Is, ‘’TUNAO UWEZO’’
A trade union is an organization that protects the rights and interests its members. Members are employees in a particular sector or job, for example, pharmaceutical technology.
Protection of Labor Rights is enshrined in the constitution of Kenya under Article 41.
The Article states that Every Person Has A Right To:
- Fair Labor Practices
- Fair Remuneration
- Reasonable Working Conditions
- Form, Join Or Participate in the Activities of Trade Unions
- Permanent Membership – All Employed & Non-Employed Pharmacy & Poison Board Enrolled Pharmaceutical Technologists both private and public sector.
- Provisional Membership – Pharmaceutical Technologist Students from Pharmacy & Poison Board Recognised Institutions.
